Landscape Lifestyle nurtures creative interaction with our clients. We harness the passion from both client and designer, transposing this into an artistic concept. All our work springs from this one abiding principle.
Founder Cameron Grant's 25 years of experience as principal of Landarche Landscape Architecture and Landstruct Landscape Construction has given Landscape Lifestyle the practical experience to translate that artistic concept into an outdoor environment to enhance your life.
We work closely with the users throughout the design and construction phase to ensure the utmost functionality and aesthetic integrity of the garden.
DESIGN
Landscape Lifestyle loves to create beautiful gardens and appreciates that Client’s invite us into their homes and lives for an interaction on a close family level to design and build their dream gardens. This can vary from meeting the entire family to meeting one member. And the briefs can vary from intimate simple courtyards to several acres of land surrounding a house.
Addressing the brief, we as designers need to develop a master plan for the spaces involved – this is about defining areas – bubble diagram style to create appropriate spaces for the activities and the overlaps of these spaces/activities. (This is a fundamental Landscape architecture process which is critical for any design).
Once this process is complete we can start aesthetically forming the spaces and the flow of the garden – this is a hand sketching workshop style – whereby often 2 designers are talking and brainstorming ideas down on tracing paper (this is the time to get it right – any mistakes made here are cheap and easy to fix).
This process is also 3 dimensional and addresses requirements for space – if the spaces are too small it is cramped and not everyone can fit; if too large it lacks intimacy and can have a lack of enclosure. The designers must be careful to “make it feel right” part of this is based on experience but more importantly there is a designers intuition.
Landscape Lifestyle follows this concept phase with an interactive design development process adding detail to embellish the landscape intent, refining materials, products, plantings and costings.
CONSTRUCTION
Following the design process we use a team of handpicked passionate craftspeople to ensure clear and efficient design implementation. Our tradespeople love their work and apply an artistic attention to detail.
Lifestyles in-house construction team includes qualified landscape gardeners, horticulturalists and carpenters along with a network of licensed and experienced pool builders, plumbers, fencers, electricians and suppliers.
We have a variety of specific skills across teams and use these for particular detailed elements of the project. Our site foreman and core team will always remain on your project.
Our experienced construction crews skills encompass: stone paving, brick paving, block rendered retaining walls, stone retaining walls, dry stacked stone walls, exposed aggregate concrete, decking, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fencing, pool barriers, swimming pools, spas, seating areas, outdoor furniture, gates, plants and planting, fire pits, soils and mulches, pebbles and feature stone and rockwork, garden sculptures, and artefacts.
We do not subcontract any work in the direct landscape stream – and therefore ensure full quality control and aesthetic composition throughout.
Our teams are also trained and coached in customer service – as our type of work can be very disruptive to the home and family - we work on dealing with household matters to help ensure the smooth running of the home throughout the construction phase.
Items which are addressed and dealt with during this time include:
Access for family, pets, visitors and cars
Management of dust, mud, water, erosion and waste/rubbish
Protection of significant trees and their root-zones, and preservation of other vegetation
Containment of pets and decanting to areas as required
Management of deliveries and materials – crossovers/nature strip access and cleanliness
Management and minimisation of noise – and times machinery is used –works may coincide with study, VCE exams etc
Our extensive and skilled team allows Landscape Lifestyle to build gardens of outstanding quality in an organised, seamless fashion.
In some circumstances we will build a landscape design, provided by another landscape designer providing the design is good quality and a full set of documents is supplied.
MAINTENANCE
To ensure we continually get the best from the garden, Landscape Lifestyle now provide a quality maintenance service to protect your investment and present it at its best at all times.
This service can be provided as a consistent weekly, fortnightly or monthly visit; or if required can be a specified maintenance service task.
